re: It isn't a wash. The entire concept is that private accounts will earn more than trust fund dollars. Thus, the savings in trust fund dollars will be greater than the payments that would otherwise have been required.

So that means they are going to cut benefits more than the cut in contributions? Otherwise it's a wash.
