It's an emotional case. The mother doesn't want to lose her daughter. The husband realizes that she's already gone. It must be a huge expense to take care of her too.

If the mother wants her to remain on life support, is she willing to pay for that and to provide the support needed? If so, I see no reason for the husband to object, except that he probably knows that Teri wouldn't want to go on like that.

In any case can't see why this family matter is any business of the congress.
