Horrible things happen to children and I shudder to think how many geniuses have been destroyed or diagnosed with learning disorders or in jail simply because our system caters to the lowest common denominator which is fast approaching moron. Education is important but so is a desire to teach which can instill a desire to learn. If you don't have inspirational teachers you're not going to get very far.
