SNY bucked the market today, March 22, posting a gain that was cut in half from the peak at the close of trading. Given that they had an analyst's meeting in NY yesterday, that is a good sign. As ugly as the prospects that are being painted for the American stock markets are, a French drug maker with a decent pipeline and a potential blockbuster probably had a good story to tell. Anybody care to share feedback from that meeting? Yes, an report released today showed an increase in institutional holdings, S&P raised the rating on their debt citing improving operating performance, and there was a win on a patent case in Canada, but my money is on all of the above feeding into the pop from the analysts' meeting, with likely more buying to follow. Their clients are likely hungry for a good story. Contradiction or confirmation anyone? I feel like I am shouting into the abyss with only two bookmarks on this site.
