Well, it IS a miracle even if there are a gazillion earths out there. Or only one. And the mechanism and scope of God's intervention is way beyond our comprehension. Why does it make a difference? Coming from the Christian faith as I do, I do not see any conflict between science and religion. Those from either side who say otherwise are just not privy to all there is to know. That's why I like to be curious. That's why I'm unpacking and putting my library on bookshelves after packing it up to Alaska and back for 50 cents a pound one way, and it weighs a ton! You can never know too much or have too many books or stars.
