ep,

Correct me if you think I'm wrong, but the "ownership" class are not mutual fund investors, who tend to be people who may be solidly middle class, but do not represent the elites.

The elites are currently engaged in hedge fund speculations, much of which is run offshore. One of the most ominous developments that I have seen recently from the perspective of the strength of U.S.-based financial institutions (and thereby the American middle class) is the rise of Caribbean based hedge funds picking up vast amounts of U.S. assets, including government issued debt. This is the "hot money" crowd that grew infamous in the age of the "Predator's Balls".

If history is any judge, things will end badly for the average folks in this episode as well. We're still paying for the sins of the S&L scamsters like the President's brother Neil Bush and his ilk.
