Suggests that maybe people are born to it and it is probably a waste of time to discuss it. It most likely won't change any more than one day you find your skin color changed. Probably a dominant gene, huh? It would seem that we've selected for it in the United States because of the religious persecution history and the flight of particularly believing people. Clearly, the studies suggest it is a complex effect and one that has environmental and social elements to it.

Economic immigrants would be neutral, maybe. Or, maybe not. Possibly even lacking the faith in God to think that praying back at would they make their lot better, or the pray the new place has all the new hopes for them and their family. Who knows?

I think we've skewed our population - I think I suggested this years ago. No other industrial country has our profile, unless you want to count Poland or the Philippine Islands, but even most Filipinos believe in evolution.

We'd probably have the profile of Poland if we hadn't diluted our gene pool with later migrant waves.
