I think it is very sweet and hopeful of you that you spend your own money rewarding your students, Ionseco. I know that most teachers spend quite a bit of their own money on things that are not provided--I think it is sad because most teachers don't earn that much.

I have never been a teacher, although it runs in my familly, and I don't know what I would do in a similar situation. The teachers in my family tried to stimulate children to learn by turning them on to the sheer excitement of knowledge. That is what I did with my daughter, as well. I suspect that gets harder the more children are jaded and dysfunctional, though.
