How many feet of video were shot? Apparently none of the things you describe are reproducible, which indicates they are random responses. If her cerebral cortex is gone, random responses is all she has. And yes, moderately complex actions are handled at a fairly low level in the nervous system. It is the cerebral cortex that analyzes and coordinates sensory information and basically sends the command "move arm" or "walk".

Whether or not the husband is honest isn't relevant. Whether or not her friends who backed his testimony are honest isn't relevant. The state of Florida has the decision making authority in this matter and all of the judges who have ruled on this have ruled the same.
