It's not what she said....its more what she did.

She and her husband have been clients of mine since 1989. They've always done well with me. They called me and asked for an analysis of their situation. I spent 6 hours with them (2 meetings) and a couple hours of crunching numbers not to mention some thought time. Anyhow, I put together a plan explained everything, signed all the papers and today I get this call. She wants to dissect a few things that honestly she will never understand. I commend her for want to understand but God didn't create this lady for the purpose of understanding what I do. She has talents in other areas. The long and the short of it is this - after 15 years of working together I don't want to screw around. I want to look at an issue from all angles, reach a conclusion and act accordingly. I did that, we did that, and it was done ethically and correctly. The problem is I try never to use the line "trust me." But after this many years thats exactly what she should do. Instead I find myself answering all sorts of questions that not only aren't germane to what we're doing but also show her complete lack of understanding. She isn't dumb she just hasn't been doing what I have for 17 years. I know my job and I'm good at it. In the same way I don't question the air conditioner guy because I don't know squat about a compressor I'd like to think she'd listen to my advice, take it and not pester me with a bunch of questions. If I had the reputation of being slimy or had done them wrong it would be one thing but this solution is as obvious as a fart in an elevator!
