You have to register to vote, register your car, heck, you have to register your dog. Law officers are constantly using car registration information to track down criminals. Why not guns? Criminals are getting guns from shady dealers and other low lifes, not legitimate gun owners, so why wouldn't gun owners welcome such a registration?

Btw: based on the responses to your message to me, you've got quite a fan club. :)
