The problem with your analysis is that in a Video of Terri including sound, she verbally responded when asked by her mother if she was alright. Hearing Terri's response "aaaa,aaaaaaaa" objectively, one hears inflections exactly reflecting the inflections one would hear had she formed the intelligible word "alright" in response, with the intent of reassuring her mother.
If you have seen such a video, and I suspect you haven't because the courts are not allowing any recent footage to be released beyond the small clip taken in 2001, then that video was staged by her parents.......at least that's what's been said in the news. Every MD who has spent time with Schiavo has said there is a total disconnect between she and her environment. She can't even swallow let along talk.
It is clear that she can follow objects.
Look again.........her eyes go back and forth randomly.
It is clear that she smiles when loved ones get in her face.
And I saw that 'smile' in a 1991 video clip when only her nurse was present........it would seem her face is frozen in that expression.

and which she couldn't exhibit if in fact in her case "Sensory information gets gathered in the thalamus and then goes, nowhere." It is clear to me that what you think is clear isn't clear at all, and in evidence of this are 2 out of 5 Doctors who feel differently about her condition.
From what I understand, the MDs who have examined her closely are pretty much in agreement. Its only the second hand diagnoses done from afar, like the one Frist did, that are raising the same questions already answered by the original MDs.
If I weren't aware of the above realities, and believed her condition is certainly as far gone as you feel it is, I'd be far less haunted.
Why are you feeling haunted? The decision was made by the State of FLA........8 times from what I understand, and her legal guardian concurs with that decision. Real, non vegetative people on death row who, as it turns out, are innocent have been put to death on a number of occasions. Do you feel haunted by those deaths?
It is true that we wouldn't kill animals this way, and would be punished if we did. How many people would wish to die by slow starvation this way?
She doesn't appear to be aware when she is fed. They put the tube through her navel and start pumping. She shows no reaction at all to what I would consider a disgusting violation. So then, why do you think she will notice when they don't feed her?
Would YOUR living will say "starve me to death even if I'm smiling when my family visits me? Truly, a judge believing in Terri's husbands honesty and right to therefore carry out Terri's wishes, ought say "we'll kill her humanely and quickly, or not at all." But in fact the honesty of her husband is itself in grave doubt. This which is happening to Terri now, with very real doubt existing, is thoroughly wrong, IMO.
What is dishonest about her husband?
