How do you explain an apparent "believer" hating their sinful nature so much that they believe even a God of ultimate compassion and love could not forgive them? Or do they subconsciously know that eternal torture is not an act of compassion or love? I suppose that if a child is no bloody good, then Hell fire is a more perfect justice than the belt and the fist and the isolation?
