LB, You are right. Every denomination has picked, and chosen, the parts of the Bible that fit their personal, human, beliefs, which is why I will not go to any denominational church.
I have no beef with those that are of the Catholic laity, but from the Sees to the Vatican, I do have a problem with their opinion of being closer to God than even their own parish flocks. I do, and always will, be sickened by those in the political climate of the Vatican, that live in luxury, with precious gems sewn into the dresses they wear, silk slippers, expensive art work, vaults of precious metals, while wearing their funny hats, and putting themselves above, and lord over, their parishioners, when a large percentage of their followers, live in poverty. People bow to the Pope as if he were God himself, when he is nothing more than another human male, that has been elected to the political office of Pope. Right now, I would bet that there are Cardinals that are salivating while waiting for him do die, so they can move up the ladder in that hierarchy. Recent news reports has shown where celibacy will get you. God blessed marriages, but these people turn away from it.
Personally, I have had, and still have, many friends that are Catholics, mainly because they were born into that denomination, and couldn't ask for better people to know. |
