I am not so sure power demand will continue to be strong. Flourescent lights in the bulb size have come down dramatically in price in the past year. I picked up a pack of 6 60W equivalent bulbs for $9 last month at Costco and they are now about that price at Home Depot. They are showing up in more and more houses. The difference is obvious as the light coming out the windows at night is white instead of a dingy yellow. Every one of those lights installed is a 75% reduction in lighting demand. It may seem a minor factor but could start putting a dramatic dent in nighttime power demand as they become more accepted.
