Very unusual report results imo with the falling dollar and us Americans continuing on an unreal home buying spree. Both should have stoked the durable goods orders from a consumer standpoint. The dollar decline should be increasing sales of capital equipment.
Is no one overseas buying cheap American goods? Also soaring home demand should keep durable good purchases continuing for many months to come. Another contradiction is rises in joblessness should dampen home buying enthusiasm. Is this the last wave?
The fence sitters who were waiting on rates, now finally buying? Of course, these would be the folks buying at the top.
Very contradictory report and not good for stocks at all.
