I know what you mean about things heating up in the Bay area. I am privvy to in depth financial info on several private companies and see the evidence there. I see us at a 98/99 type juncture with regard to chips and tech right now. The shake out is over. What I don't know is if the market is ever going to assign the same type of values it did in the past to the new tech companies who are going to lead in this next wave.

Hedge funds and MM have been more influential on the Naz stocks than oil prices or inflation. Program trading has put the handcuffs on many issues. These levels are historic, so there is no way to project the outcome. The only reference is that it will reach a saturation point and blow up. Even in such a scenario, it is uncertain exactly which direction the market would take. I just look for bargains when I can find them.
