>>> Chevron Texaco and Conoco P. meanwhile selling for less than 10x **trailing** earnings is also very juicy and it's very, very funny to see people even spooked from these names over the past several weeks. <<<

I have been one of those saying that people should lock some profits in. This doesn't mean one has to sell their entire position. However, since we don't know what the future brings, and if one has some very handsome profits, one has an obligation to mange risk and lock some of those profits in. There isn't a law that says one can't buy the position back. In most cases, people can buy it back at a lower price than what they sold it for, if they responded about the time some of us were saying, take some money off the table.

I wouldn't call it being spooked. I would call it managing risk like a professional.

I happen to be short some of the oil stocks and I'm showing a profit on them. I have my stops in place in the event we see a rebound.

I don't follow the fundamentals so I do have a question if anyone can answer it. If peak earnings are to hit this quarter, how does that bode for earnings growth looking forward and what impact will that have on share prices?
