The court system is really assanine. Most people don't realize what goes on in courts. And the media is doing a disservice when they say that this case has been heard and rejected by some twenty judges. The fact is that all the judges, with the exception of the first, never heard the evidence. If evidence was dismissed by the first judge for whatever reason, then that evidence is no longer in the file. A thousand judges afterwards will never get to hear that evidence and form their own opinion as to its merits.

In other words, if the first judge screwed up no other judge can correct it unless the case is fully retried.
