But you bring up something that elicits a comparison. Roe v Wade. Wasn't that a bit of "ad-hocery?" If not, how does it differ?

There was no intent to single out Jane Roe for extra-legal treatment. On the contrary, it was intended that any decision for Roe would apply to everyone in her class, that of pregnant women.

In Terri's case, if there has been any thought given even for what her class might be it has eluded my inquiries. Let alone for the social and budgetary consequences of changing the rules for her entire class. The crusade has been all about one woman and nothing about her cohort.
