Instead of Terri Schiavo let's imagine it is Robert F. Pulanski (his friends call him "Bob") that needs saving. Instead of a fair maiden in need of rescuing by our brave knights ("Ride, Sir Rescuer, ride like the wind!") we have a middle aged guy with a five o'clock shadow who drools on himself. How many people would be marching around with "Save Bob!" placards? None, of course. Nobody would even know he exists. Middle aged guys who drool on themselves make for lousy video footage.
