gfp: If you want something mundane, there are hundreds of fine companies to chose from that do not have to rely on hand waving to explain their business model.

In my experience, when people invest in a company because they think it is solving a major societal problem --as TexasDude admits to doing— that can be a red flag.

(A personal aside about salt: I had 150/90 BP a couple of years ago and went off salt for two weeks, which brought the BP reading down to 130/65. I did not need any newfangled technology to do it – it was as simple as choosing better foods.)
