what current law do you mean here?

The law allowing people to be removed from life support even though they have no living will. As was Terri.

As per: Message 21170449

"I have been listening very carefully to what the folks on the other side are saying...The best I can tell, there is no objection to the right to die if the party, himself, clearly articulates the wish to do so and if the death can be achieved by simply withholding life support intervention. Conversely, anyone not meeting those criteria must continue to live..."

In question is the cost of keeping all those people on life support whose surrogates would have pulled the plug under current law. I'm assuming that the vast majority of the cost of that would come under Medicaid so a budget increase would be necessary.
