I'll bet LB has had more than enough of this colloquy. How did you ever figure that out? :>) I think there will be another week of it. Her death, the wakes and services, and the chattering classes summing up. I just posted some thoughts by Andrew Stuttaford that struck home. Much of the intensity of the US conservative response to the tragedy of Terri Schiavo (and other matters) can only be understood as a reflection of the way in which much of American conservatism is intertwined with a strong sense of religious faith. The split here and in the country is between the religious and the secular. All the argument and reasoning going on is just to justify that basic split in philosophy.
