Wish we could know just how many of these people we have in the US. This article I posted yesterday makes the point that we have little in the way of data regarding such things. It's all private and decentralized. Message 21172447 ...people in our jails and prisons. What is the financial cost for keeping these people alive? Data on inmates and the cost of their support, OTOH, is out there. Inmates are paid for by governments and governments keep records on their numbers and costs.
