The market is extremely oversold right now. Strategic selling done through program trading can't seem to break it, like it did in '01. The public isn't really buying, nor are they selling. That's the problem with the bear case. The public is not in the market heavy, they are involved in a residential real estate orgy. There are effectively no sellers to spur into action. The short selling programs are trying thier darndest to get the action to go south, to pick up some cheap shares to either cover or accumulate, but no one is paying attention.
