I hate it when foolish people say the equivalent to: "Oh, but Johnny made me kill him. He was mean. I had no choice."

But isn't your view naive?

Isn't it a fact that wars often, perhaps most often, solve problems? Did not the Allies solve problems in WWII? Did not the Coalition solve a problem in the Gulf War by removing Iraq from Kuwait (even if Saddam was to be a persistent PITA afterward)?

I hate it when foolish people seem to conclude that war must always be avoided at all costs. This kind of Chamberlain-ish complacency is what led Europe to allow the Nazis to rebuild their military as all of Europe sat on its hands. Evil as it may seem, sometimes starting a war is the best way to deal with a problem. The "war is a last resort" mantra sounds great; but the reality is that there are times when a war is preferable to doing nothing.
