Our own Mqurice from aussie/nz area.

To stop any excessive chinese expansion, we need to have a strong South Asia and a ring of strong island nations like Indonesia, Malaya, Japan and the Phillipines. Potential problem points are taiwan, NKorea, and southeast asia to a lesser extent. Containment of china is something that needs to be done quietly and always with peaceful objectives. China is growing so fast, its politics needs some time to catch up to its economics whether in terms of domestic democracy or in hopefully moderating what might tend to become a hyper-nationalist, heavy handed fp in the region. If I were Asian, i would worry less about the US or Japan and more about this danger inherent in the chinese current situation. mike
