Talking at work and home I find I am far from alone. We who have considered ourselves rational Republicans are simply horrified. We know regret the passionate arguments we have had with the Kerryites. My daughter has had such intense arguments with some many Kerry supporters that she has arrived home from work hoarse. My son-in-law, from a family of liberal deomocratic lawyers, was convinced that George Bush was a great man doing great things. All the physicians I talked with at work feel George Bush has betrayed his cause by coming down on the side of insanity. Horrified, we are all horrified. From what I understand we are far from alone. George Bush has cost himself the support of the rational right. His presidency will never be the same. His approval ratings are appropriately dropping. Just as Bill Clinton sold pardons, George Bush has sold his soul. They are two of a kind. Shame on you George Bush. You had it all going for you and you threw it away. This can not be forgotten and can not be forgiven. Another huge lesson from this; how frightening the religious extremists in this counry can be when they work themselves up into a frenzy. The difference between them and the Islamic extremists is one of degree not kind. Impelled by the hallucinations of their fanatacism, they wish to impose insanity on society by force.
