DNR is ok as long as you're dying, and there is no reasonable hope of benefit.

You're confusing "life" and "quality of life." Terri Schiavo was not dying, she just did not have a quality of life that you would have wanted if you had been in her shoes.

DNR at the end of life is simply allowing life to end.
