I am not out of the market but I hold more cash than stock and while my main "contribution" was to warn on the bubble in those days, I would say that now, on investments, the bubble is in the dollar itself -- a more ominous issue in some ways.

We live in a country that has been hijacked by a political minority (what Bush calls his "base") and this hard core group keeps the US focused on "its issues" -- issues that are marginal in significance except to a minority of Americans who are promoting their ideology at others expense -- while our long-term interests are seriously threatened. In many ways, "foreign policy" became a tool to keep people from noticing the serious peril that we face from our own self-inflicted economic wounds. The number one issue in America should be education -- and that should be the main thrust of our foreign policy. Instead, we excel at propaganda and neglect education. But perhaps an uneducated population that decides based on faith rather reason and global awareness makes a more reliable political "base".
