The trustee report is a stacked political deck

Your source relies on stacked selections from that stacked deck.

Of course you will say "why would the Bush folks twist the numbers".

No I wouldn't say anything of the sort. The incentive for them to do so is obvious.

To the Neo's, income has nothing to do with spending.

"Neocon" is distinguished from conservatives in general more by foreign policy then by domestic policy. Some neocons care little about restraint on spending but then some people from any of the major political subgroups don't care much about restraint on spending.

In any case my post had nothing to do with neo-cons. I was not posting in support of anything that you would apparently identify as a part of the neo-con agenda. Slamming neo-cons might give you satisfaction, and the slam might even be accurate, but it has little to do with my post. My point was that discipline on spending, even if it is just slowing down the growth of spending, will have a very positive fiscal impact. It might very well be true that "the neo-cons", or some group of neo-cons, might be against such discipline. It is also true that they would probably be against tax increases. You are free to advocate tax increases despite such the possibility that this might displease those you would call neo-cons. I am similarly free to have an opinion that is different from neo-cons or from Bush's. I was not talking about them, or in their name, or to them. I was proposing what I think would be a good idea, just as you where when you called for a tax increase.
