Hopefully a lot of J6P's have Comcast next year. No doubt... that was a huge deal for TiVo in terms of subscriber adds. Do you think it will be good for TiVo in the long run? Mike Ramsey didn't (which is probably why he got fired). TiVo is as good a bet as any to provide the software for the "entertainment server" of the future, especially if their patents hold up. What patents do you think preclude others (M$ in particular) from delivering the "entertainment server" you envision? A mediacenter PC and a couple of extenders can do what you describe today (not 15 years from now), but you have to be pretty well off to afford so many plasma TVs :). If the "Timewarp" patent does prove to be wide reaching enough to prevent any and all DVR competition, TiVo is indeed in a pretty good position to win DVR wars.
