When I was in Boy Scouts most kids were good, but there were a suprisingly large number of bad kids, I mean really bad kids who were bullies, abusive and just downright sick and twisted to include torturing animals and some pretty bad vandalism as well. We stayed on a turf farm on one campout and some kids set smaller turf raising machines, gas powered on fire. I also recall some setting sleeping bats on fire on some caving camping trips.

The adult leaders were also quite interesting. A pretty large contingent of fathers would participate in campouts and in their own separate tent group they would all be drinking beer and some hard liquor and smoking. Every camp out was like this.
