Ron, given the market was flat for the decade, did you go into the market just after the bear to capture the good five year return following the bear market? Or, did you buy and hold some good firms that outperformed the market throughout the 70s decade? Am just curious what your strategy was. This downturn gave me the impression one has to factor in the economy (i.e. write CCs during bad times) or be more diversified in other sectors like oil & real estate (not now) otherwise one could get hammered during a bad downturn.
