Yes, I do. I think Ramsey was infatuated with being a packaged goods to end user product company. I think TiVo is better off being a branded software company, which sounds like what the Comcast deal is about. Right now they have the most elegant solution, can they maintain that lead? I would prefer to see them be hardware agnostic, even go to the PC space in competition with MS.

As far as the patents, I skimmed through them a while back and assuming they hold, it would preclude many of the features that people think of as DVR standard (there were a lot of patents I didn't understand). And I think they could enjoin or license MS (MCE) as well as cable operators. Of course you are right that "time warp" is critical. If TiVo were to win the Echostar suit, "To the moon, Alice". On the other hand, if they were to lose it...

It's sure to be interesting and unpredictable.
