SNC-Lavalin, Ontario and Hydro-Québec to Propose Major Hydroelectric Development in Labrador
MONTREAL, March 30 - SNC-Lavalin Inc. announced that it has
submitted a joint proposal with Hydro-Québec and the Ontario government for
the development of large-scale hydroelectric generation facilities on the
Lower Churchill River in Labrador. The proposal was submitted in response to a
Request for Expressions of Interest and Proposals issued by the government of
Newfoundland and Labrador in January 2005.
"We're delighted at the prospect of working in cooperation with
Newfoundland and Labrador, alongside our partners Hydro-Québec and Ontario, on
such an important hydro power development," said Albert Williams, Senior Vice-
President and General Manager, Atlantic Canada, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. "SNC-
Lavalin is well established in all three provinces and in a position to bring
valuable experience to the project."
