Hello Pezz, Today's Dangerous Game:
(a) I purchased enough Sinolink (1168.hk) finance.yahoo.com to make life more interesting than it already is, for a few days at least.

The company does gas distribution or something like that, and I am guessing they will have good things to say about gas, or pipes, or how they will make me happier than I already am.

In any case, the business is real, the PE is quite reasonable, and the dividend is already healthy.

(b) I committed a mind-bending and brain-searing pile to a private equity deal, hoping to shuffle the deck a bit, end up with publicly tradable shares in about 60 days time, hopefully, and emerge better off.

I will have no restrictions on said public shares, since it will not be by convoluted and haphazard way of IPO, but by more twisted but perhaps better controlled path of asset injection/backdoor listing. I aim to hold for the long term, but exit the capital portion by this time in 2006, and hopefully what remains in the account after that exit accounting will still be a positive number.

I wish only to be in rhythm with the cosmos, in sync with the tide, in keeping with the time, in harmony with the sun, and in tune with the force.

I think I know how the first astronauts must have felt just before the launch to the moon.

(c) In effort to make self feel better about recent and hopefully only temporary and just paper losses (you are right, there is no such thing as a paper loss, as each day is a mark-to-market day), I guessed at and recognized the expected gain from pending closure of real estate liquidation.

(d) Presto, I am up 14.39% on NAV for the YTD.

Chugs, Jay
