It's clear that tennis isn't the number one priority for the sisters; they've even said so. It's more like, "Yeah, tennis is fine, but it's just tennis. No big deal, really."
That's fine, frankly, I'm all for people being themselves. Anna Kournakova didn't put all that much effort into tennis. But America loves champions, in the end. And we draw back from people who sandbag it. The sisters had the goods to dominate tennis for 12 years straight, and they come to matches with great skills and abilities, and poorly trained both physically and mentally. Especially physically. The difference in attitude toward tennis between Andre and the sisters is astounding.
Who knows, maybe they'll figure out that neither fashion nor acting is really their forte, and return to tennis with renewed devotion when they're 25 or 26.
