The Pope should have retired at the top of his game rather than forcing his public to watch him fall apart. True there is much to be said about reminding people of mortality, however, there is more to be said for using the mystique of positionfor the betterment of people. Stripping himself of the "mystique" as I have chosen to call it, seriously erodes the belief or power and wisdom among masses. Perhaps he wants to be the last Pope. I don't know, but I used to be very impressed with his linguistic abilities. Now I think he should have left a champion.
