"Nasdaq posts worst Q1 performance in four years!"

Nasdaq posts worst Q1 performance in four years ($SPX, $COMPQ, $INDU) By Mark Cotton
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks ended lower Thursday, with the Nasdaq posting its worst first quarter performance in four years, as a jump in oil prices and higher interest rates sparked concern about the outlook for the economy and corporate profits. The Nasdaq Composite ($COMPQ) dropped 7 points, to an unofficial close of 1,998.37, with the tech-rich index falling around 8 percent in the last three months. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ($INDU) fell 41 points to 10,500. The benchmark index fared a little better than the Nasdaq, falling around 2.6 percent in the quarter. The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) ended the session, down 1.04 points at 1,180.38. The broad gauge ended down 2.6 percent in the first quarter.
