This 'story' is a family matter. This happens every day all over the country.. why obsess over this one bulimic woman? I know 2 people in the same condition, and they did not bring it upon themselves, as she did. People have been manipulated by the media, and they wanted to be manipulated. As soon as the Scott Peterson sentencing was done, the media needed another 'story' to sell more ads. As soon as the Schiavo story became big media, the parents saw they were in the spotlight, and could not back down. At the same time, donations started to pour in. These 2 factors then fueled the endless court filings and fruitless appeals. It was a vicious compressed cycle played out in fast motion, fueled by mass media herd-mentality hyper-focus. It's incredible how many people were suckered in by this.
