I think that investors are a little confused as to what kind of company IBM now is. If it is a semiconductor company, it is valued in line with many of the others (Micron Tech, Intel, etc.). If it is a computer/server company, it is in line with the others. If it is a software company, it is in line with MSFT, and the others. Ditto if it is a "services" company. The problem is, it's hard for investors to understand the business. Maybe it is a high-tech conglomerate, and will need to establish what kind of growth (the real key to stock value) that can sustain.
