To All: Latest on Herbalife; Wednesday September 3 6:30 PM EDT Herbalife signs new 3 yr agreements LOS ANGELES, Sept 3 (Reuter) - Herbalife International, Inc Wednesday said it entered into new three-year supply agreements with its existing principal suppliers of weight management and nutritional supplement products. The new agreements become effective Jan. 12, 1998, following the expiration of existing supply agreements and will ensure continued product supply for Herbalife worldwide. The new agreements provide the opportunity for cost savings for certain products, however the realization of any product cost savings will be affected by Herbalife's future product development. Under the terms of the new agreements, Herbalife will gain increased flexibility by acquiring ownership or control of substantially all of its weight management and nutritional supplement product formulations. Additionally, while Herbalife will be required to meet certain minimum purchase requirements under the terms of the agreements, the Company will have the ability to source its products with alternative manufacturers.
