AFTER THE BELL - Tech Data tracks a gain NEW YORK, Sept 4 (Reuter) - Shares in Tech Data were swept upward in after-hours trade Thursday after the company releasedsecond quarter earnings results, traders said. "It's very quiet, but Tech Data looks like it's going to heat up," a trader said. The company, which distributes microcomputers and related hardware, saw its stock rise to 40-7/8 after closing unofficially at 40-1/16. Tech Data recorded second quarter earnings of $0.47 per share after the bell, which compared favorably with a $0.30 per share figure for the year-ago period and beat analysts' consensus estimates by $0.07. As the after-hours trading session continued, Tech Data picked up greater gains still, hitting 42, a dealer said.
