It took more than Tom's vote to get that private bill in the Schiavo case through Congress. Now all my Congresscritters are Dems anyway and the way it works here I might as well not vote for all the difference it makes. But all the people with Bible-thumping Congresscritters ought to remember that next time it can be THEM in that bed. Do they want their families bankrupted and put through decades of legal wrangling (no fun all by itself) just so they end up dying without ever regaining consciousness? It's time to send a message to these clown that there are a lot of people out here who ARE conservatives and Republicans but are NOT Christian Rightists and they'd better start paying attention to us too or we will become the swing vote that defeats them. My wife has medical power of attorney for me and I have it for her. I don't want a guv, a Prexy, or a legislature overruling our express and expressed wishes to grandstand.
