The Radio Equalizer has the low down (emphasis on the low) on liberal Air America radio rating throughout the country.

And it isn't too new to measure, especially not in New York City, where WLIB's just-released numbers show, in the broadest audience measurement of adults 12+, that Air America's flagship station has declined to a tiny 1.1 share of the audience. There's a full year of data to look at now and the picture isn't pretty for lib talk.

This is below where the station stood a year ago with its previous Caribbean specialty format and a drop from a 1.2 share last month. In the Fall 2004 Arbitron survey, WLIB had a 1.4 share of the radio listening audience, so it is safe to say it's actually shrinking in popularity.

Ratings are also down in San Diego, Philadelphia, Denver and even in San Francisco where Al Franken and crew post just a 1.0 rating. Stations in Detroit, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. don't have enough an audience to show up in the ratings.

I decided to see how my local Air America is doing. In the ratings that came out this week, KCAA 1050 San Bernardino-Riverside didn't show up at all in the ratings. In comparsion, KFI which has Rush among other shows is the top rated station, FM or AM, with a huge 6.7 rating. KTIE which carries Hugh Hewitt and other Salem shows showed some good growth going from 0.0 last winter to 0.5 now.
