I promised to comment when I got the results of my own MRI/MRA back.

Met with docs late Thursday afternoon. We sat at a large computer screen and looked at the MRI slices together. Then they rotated the MRA film in two axis. It no longer looks like a flat bowl of spaghetti. We were looking at all the arteries in my brain in three dimensions. The latter technical capability is new and part of the new machine's capabilities. In fact there are no new "films". The process is now completely digitized. The quality of the images is incredible. I thought later that this might replace arteriograms of the brain.

Next they did a comparison to my last films. The difference was so stunning I asked if they were certain the new images were indeed mine. I could not have received better news.

The bottom line is I need a few more medical tests but expect to be off the blood thinners and other drugs within a month.

My wife asked me what I'd like to do to celebrate. I said join a gym. Under doctors orders, I haven't had more than a hike for exercise since the injury 8 1/2 years ago. I worked out yesterday.
