Of course he wasn't. Did he let any scientists out of the country? Did he account for what had happened to the missing stocks? No.

Did any scientists want to leave the country? If you read the press briefing that Hans Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei gave, instead of the spin that you posted, you see that they were able to interview scientists in private and sometimes with another person present. They had planned to increase private interviews, but they were not really wanting to take scientists out of the country. That pressure came from the Bush administration.

But for a moment think about this. If a scientist did leave the country, what else would he be able to say that he could not say in a private in country interview? The inspectors were going to have more private interviews when they returned...but that process was cut short by Bush's war.

The Iraqi's did account for the weapons stocks. They said they were all destroyed. Now of course everyone wants to see paper work that says they were destroyed. And there were gaps in the Declaration that didn't match with our intelligence. Well we now know why...the intelligence was dead wrong. But both Hans Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei said that Iraq was cooperating, and that progress was being made. You can read that here:

When I look at the spin piece that you posted, it's clear that you highlighted only those portions that support your conclusions, and ignored the portions of the piece that indicated that cooperation was taking place.

There never was any opportunity given in the post buildup period for that cooperation to continue. And it's clear why. Because Bush was intent on invading, cooperation or not.
