Those countries had problems when they initially formed their
democracies. That's historical fact, just like every single
country in had major disputes when they initially formed a
democracy.

Can you name on country that formed a democracy, where none
previously existed, that had zero dissent in the process?

"Right now the Iraqis want the Americans to leave"

Is that so? So other than your mis-interpretation of Iraqi's
gleefully showing their ink stained fingers to a camera after
they voted for democracy in Iraq, what real evidence exists
to show the Iraqi's want us to leave?

"They are not the type who would embrace democracy."

So you opine. Why then, did more than 8 million Iraqi's risk
real injury from terrorists to vote for democracy then?

Here are some interesting facts that run completely counter
to your POV.......

Even In Najaf, Iraqis Reject Theocracy

Najaf, which Haider describes as "the center of the Shiite branch of Islam and possibly the most religiously conservative city in Iraq if not in the northern middle east."

(Two tidbits from the survey)

- 63% support the multi national forces staying in Iraq for the current time.
- 85% expect the new transitional government to succeed in its goals.
